Leaders are becoming aware that old problem-solving methods are insufficient to address the increasingly tangled problems they face today. Many recognize the growing importance of cultivating and managing a collaborative culture that has the ability to cut across organizational silos and disciplines. They therefore seek ways to engage the collective power of their teams to develop and execute innovative solutions and strategies. This kind of culture is particularly relevant among Millennials entering the workforce who seek meaning, freedom, and relationships in favor of money and recognition. Learning skills to facilitate and grow a multifaceted and collaborative culture is central for any leader seeking to attract and retain the best and brightest talent with which to fuel innovation.
The Journey of Facilitation and Collaboration (JOFC), https://www.journeyofcollaboration.com/journey-facilitation-collaboration
is a 5-day group leadership experience that facilitates transformative learning at the emotional, physical, intellectual, social and spiritual levels. Many professionals in the coaching or consulting arena in their work with groups find that group facilitation is an extremely important (but often overlooked) skill set necessary if one wants to help tap these group’s collective potential. Taken by hundreds, of leaders, coaches, consultants, trainers and others, JOFC teaches the skills and attitudes required to build a collaborative, high performing group culture that can produce profound and lasting impact on leaders and their groups or organizations. Results are accomplished using a unique technology called Integral Facilitation that integrates one’s personal power and presence with attention to task, outcomes, processes, and relationships.
Past workshop participants report increased confidence to lead groups through complex and challenging situations that involve coordination and collaboration across multiple disciplines and geographies. Even those with extensive facilitation training and experience describe this workshop as a truly exceptional expansion of material they thought they were familiar with and describe it as one of the best professional training sessions they’ve ever attended. They come away with confidence and personal power that allows them to apply these skills to every aspect of their professional life: from leadership to supervision, peer relationships to participation. Surveys of alumni indicate an overall satisfaction rating that exceeds 98% and over 96% say that they would recommend this course to others. Testimonials from Coaches. Many practicing coaches have attended this training over the years. We’ve included three coach testimonials below:
1.As a trained ICF coach and participant in the January 2017 JOFC program, I would like to recommend this course to be part of the ICF credential program because it gave me a solid integral insight and the tools to evolve my skills as a professional coach. In general, the Integral approach and framework makes the difference. It makes sense and places clients in a greater perspective from where they can see themselves as persons in an AQAL- perspective.

2.When I took the JOFC class in June 2014, I was thinking of pumping up my facilitation skills. I did not realize till I had completed the course how much what I learned would help me with my coaching clients. For example I will think about which archetypal response will be most helpful for someone I am coaching. Using the integral lens is also very useful for talking through specific situations with clients--figuring out what is happening in each quadrant. Finally the role of self-awareness in any leadership or personal transformation was something that stood out to me with renewed clarity. I strive to help those I coach to start first with self-awareness and to keep it in the forefront of our work.

3.I took part in the 5-day Journey of Facilitation & Collaboration class in June 2017. I have background in Logosynthesis (the power of words), teaching, instructional design, and I am building a new coaching practice with a focus on traveling alongside others as they navigate life transitions. I find great synergy between coaching and facilitation work. The JOFC program provides instruction and help that benefit my coaching practice in topics that include: creative strategies to address the surprises that arise, attentive listening, playful curiosity, non-judging and sharing empathy, clear communication as a guide, addressing knotty problems, navigate and call out conflicts, helping others move beyond obstacles, helping individuals tap inner strengths, self-care and mindfulness practice. I look forward to future work with Living Giving Enterprises.
